This is horse rider holding the rein by the left hand and a sword by the right hand. The body of the Horse is decorated with chequered designs. The horse has serrated design on the neck. This is probably Jakeri Pennu.

Significance

  • ReligiousJakeri Pennu is the Earth Goddess. She is worshiped for fertile land. During the Hindu month of ‘Pus’ the ritual of worshiping her takes place. In this ritual buffalo is sacrificed. During the sacrifice and the whole Puja, different brass objects are kept on the earth as votives. These include different animal figures, human figures and containers, where rice is offered. Kutiya- Kond tribe is the user community of the object.
